In Luke chapter four at the beginning of Christ’s ministry on earth He went to His hometown synagogue and read to the people these words taken from Isaiah 61: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord."
By God’s grace and enabling strength this is what Abba House Foundation is all about. The gospel is preached to captives, (whether in prisons or those in sexual slavery). Abiding in Christ we reach out to the total person, providing a home in the context of a loving Christian family environment where the bruised can come and find healing and liberty. Abba House is present in Chiang Mai, Thailand to be the Father’s house; reaching out to the broken, the abused. In Isaiah 61 soon after the words Christ quoted that day we also read: "To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified."—Isaiah 61:3 It is our joy to see this promise fulfilled in the lives of our Abba House youth!
